The 73% fringe that supports AZ immigration law!!
Barack Obama and the Democrats keep trying to paint the new law in Arizona on immigration as some sort of misguided effort by a frustrated fringe. Unfortunately for them, a new poll from Pew Research shows that they’re the fringe — even in their own party

Barry Soetoro Takes America One Step Closer To Socialism.
By: Dick Morris & Eileen McGann
President Barack Obama has taken the United States one more giant step towards socialism by ramming through the Senate his financial regulation bill.
The bill authorizes the secretary of the Treasury — a political appointee — to seize any financial company (bank or nonbank) simply because, in his opinion, it is too big to fail and in danger of insolvency.
This power can be used for political retribution, pressure for campaign funding, or any other abuse bureaucratic whim or partisan politics can conceive. It is a power Fidel Castro or Hugo Chavez would love to have!
The legislation also requires that any business that extends credit, in any form, to clear the loan instrument in advance with the new consumer protection agency. The backlog of pending applications will strangle consumer credit.
And the bill fails to do the one thing it must do — regulate derivatives and make them transparent. Senator Chris Dodd, D-Conn., bowed to pressure from his sponsors on Wall Street and deleted the regulatory provision and set up a commission to study the situation for two years!
Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., protested the cop-out with a no vote against the legislation.
So how did it pass?
Four Republicans sold out, that´s how!
Among the RINOs were, of course, Susan Collins and Olympia Snow of Maine. But, surprisingly, Scott Brown, R Mass., the newly elected Massachusetts miracle defected as did the normally stalwart Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa.
Now the federal government has effectively taken over about one-third of our national economy by passing Obamacare and regulatory reform in almost the same breath.
Repealing this regulatory travesty must be high on our 2011 agenda!

Philly Tax Scam?

What would you think of this letter if you received it in the mail? Would you think it was junk mail?
The letter came in one of those types of letters you have to fold the edges and tear them on perforation to open, kind of like a paycheck. Before I threw it in the trash, I thought I'd give it a look.
Arizona Official Threatens to Cut Off Los Angeles Power as Payback for Boycott
By Judson Berger
That's the message from a member of Arizona's top government utilities agency, who threw down the gauntlet Tuesday in a letter to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa by threatening to cut off the city's power supply as retribution.
Gary Pierce, a commissioner on the five-member Arizona Corporation Commission, wrote the letter in response to the Los Angeles City Council's decision last week to boycott the Grand Canyon State -- in protest of its immigration law -- by suspending official travel there and ending future contracts with state businesses
Noting that a quarter of Los Angeles' electricity comes from Arizona power plants, Pierce threatened to pull the plug if the City Council does not reconsider.
"Doggone it -- if you're going to boycott this candy store ... then don't come in for any of it," Pierce told FoxNews.com.
In the letter, he ridiculed Villaraigosa for saying that the point of the boycott was to "send a message" by severing the "resources and ties" they share.
"I received your message; please receive mine. As a statewide elected member of the Arizona Corporation Commission overseeing Arizona's electric and water utilities, I too am keenly aware of the 'resources and ties' we share with the city of Los Angeles," Pierce wrote.
"If an economic boycott is truly what you desire, I will be happy to encourage Arizona utilities to renegotiate your power agreements so Los Angeles no longer receives any power from Arizona-based generation."
Appearing to tap into local frustration in Arizona over the raft of boycotts and threatened boycotts from cities across the country, including Los Angeles, Pierce warned that Arizona companies are willing and ready to fight boycott with boycott.
"I am confident that Arizona's utilities would be happy to take those electrons off your hands," Pierce wrote. "If, however, you find that the City Council lacks the strength of its convictions to turn off the lights in Los Angeles and boycott Arizona power, please reconsider the wisdom of attempting to harm Arizona's economy."
Pierce told FoxNews.com that he was speaking for himself, not the entire commission, though he has the support of at least one other member. But Arizona has some serious leverage over Los Angeles, as well as the rest of California. The state and city get electricity from a nuclear power plant outside Phoenix, as well as from coal-fired power plants in northern Arizona and two giant hydroelectric power generators along the Colorado River.
Despite that, the Los Angeles City Council voted overwhelmingly last week to ban future business with Arizona -- a decision that could cost Arizona millions of dollars in lost contracts.
Los Angeles officials were furious with the Arizona immigration law passed last month and joined local officials in cities across the country in pushing boycotts to register their dismay. Critics say the law will lead to racial profiling and civil rights abuses.
Arizona officials have defended the law, saying the state needed to take its illegal immigration problem into its own hands. Pierce said he's "supportive" of the state's efforts to control the border.
The law requires local law enforcement to try to verify the immigration status of anyone they have contact with whom they suspect of being an illegal immigrant. It empowers them to turn over verified illegal immigrants to federal custody. The legislation explicitly prohibits screening people based solely on race or national origin.

Here comes the Fat Police.
A government incapable of controlling it’s own borders now wants to keep track of the weight of children living in America.
Recently, H.R.5209 The Healthy Communities through Helping to Offer Incentives and Choices to Everyone in Society Act of 2010, was introduced and referred to committee.
A state receiving federal grants provided for in the bill would be required to annually track the Body Mass Index of all children ages 2 through 18. The grant would mandate that all health care providers in the state determine the Body Mass Index of all their patients in the 2-to-18-age bracket.
The care provider would then report that information to the state government. The state government, in turn, would be required to report the information to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for analysis.
Excuse me? What about the oath our legislators swore to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America from all enemies foreign and domestic? Are we now to believe that constitutionally fat has become an enemy of the state?
Conspicuously absent in the legislation, is what the government plans to do with children if they are found to be overweight. Deny them future health care? Take them from their parents and deliver them to FEMA controlled fat farms where they may be starved? Remember the movie, “They shoot horses don’t they?”
Perhaps you might be wondering, couldn’t the government do more? Of course they can. In researching this bill I found over thirty such different pieces of legislation winding their way through the legislative process. Doubt me? Please click here.
It will never cease to amaze how our elected officials spend money on such useless legislation. Perhaps legislation will be passed to begin cutting the weight of a bloated federal government. It’s too bad it’s not their money

It seems, a government short on money must be long on titles for legislation they hope to pass. This bill would put the state and federal government in charge of how skinny or fat American children are.

Bush/Hitler Art Gets Award, Obama/Commie Art Gets Censored
It is, as we all know, the year 2010 and the era of Obama has fairly begun. Accordingly the commissars of good art taste in our schools have spoken: no kid’s artwork that makes The Obammessiah out to be a commie will be allowed. Interestingly there was another time, another year when things were different. In 2005, as it happened, another kid’s Bush-is-Hitler artwork received a wonderful award for it’s inventiveness. How times have changed, eh?

FANNIE MAE EXECUTIVES FILE A PATENT TO GAIN RIGHTS TO CONTROL CAP AND TRADE MARKET
Washington, DC—Today, Rep. Chaffetz (R-UT), along with Rep. Issa (R-CA) sent a letter to David Kappos, the Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, as well as Michael Williams, President and CEO of Fannie Mae, seeking information concerning a patent issued to Fannie Mae regarding a residential Cap and Trade system.
On June 7, 2005, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) issued Patent No. 6,904,336 for a “System and Method for Residential Emissions Trading.” The patent was assigned to the Federal National Mortgage Association (“Fannie Mae”) and CO2e.com, LLC of New York. The patent lists former Fannie Mae Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Franklin D. Raines as the primary inventor. Former Fannie Mae executives Scott Lesmes and Robert Sahadi are also listed as inventors.
“I have serious questions about why Fannie Mae, back in 2005, was working on a Cap and Trade scheme,” said Rep. Chaffetz. “Why would they be spending their resources on something that is well outside of the scope of Fannie Mae’s charter? We want to see all the information relating to the patents issued to these ‘inventive’ former Fannie Mae executives?”
“Having ventured far beyond sub-prime lending policies, Fannie Mae appears to have served as a full-blown liberal think tank for crony-capitalist ideas,” said Rep. Issa. “While the crony-capitalist Democrats who ran Fannie Mae like Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson used these kinds of ideas to enrich themselves, it was the American taxpayers who were left holding the bag after they failed. It’s disturbing that Fannie Mae executives were positioning themselves in 2005 for financial gain from an Obama Administration cap-and-trade system, but given the huge amount of campaign contributions Fannie Mae poured over President Obama it should be no surprise.”

Cynical Ploy: Turn Illegals into Democrat Voters
Nearly two thirds of the public support the Arizona law to detain illegal immigrants, according to a recent Pew survey.
“Fully 73% say they approve of requiring people to produce documents verifying their legal status if police ask for them. Two-thirds (67%) approve of allowing police to detain anyone who cannot verify their legal status, while 62% approve of allowing police to question people they think may be in the country illegally,” Pew reported on May 12.
In addition, the public is highly critical of Barry Obama’s handling of illegal immigration policy. Just 25% approve of the way Obama is handling the issue, while more than twice as many (54%) disapprove, according to Pew.
Obama and the Democrats understand they have a short time to force “immigration reform” (legalizing illegal aliens) down the throats of the American people.
Democrats also have a more cynical reason to support “amnesty” — converting Latinos into loyal Democrats and voters.
According to WorldNetDaily, the U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services, a division of the Department of Homeland Security, has a plan ready to legalize 13 million illegals within a 30-week period. “Democratic leaders recognize their control of both houses is in jeopardy in the November elections and are determined to pass the amnesty program – though they abhor that word,” WorldNetDaily reports today.
In addition to legalizing illegals, the plan calls for legislation requiring public benefits to amnesty applicants.

U.S. Government Pays $23,000 a Month to Mosque of Ft. Hood Shooting Supporter Al-Awlaki
(WASHINGTON, DC) – The Virginia mosque of the radical Islamic cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, credited as the key link behind the Fort Hood shootings, the Christmas Day underwear bomber, and the Times Square bomber, has been receiving $23,000 a month from the U.S. Census Bureau for rent of an office building the mosque owns in the Washington suburbs.
“I wonder do we actually even have a Department of Homeland Security,” says Congressman John Carter (R-TX), who represents the Fort Hood area in the House. “The purpose for creating this cabinet-level agency in 2002 was to coordinate all agencies of the federal government to prevent any more radical Islamic attacks like 9-11. Eight years later and they can’t even tell a federal agency they’re renting office space from the very mosque involved with the 9-11 attacks, and that has seeded this past year’s assaults through the likes of Al-Awlaki.”
The former Texas judge says the mosque’s terrorist links could have been easily detected through a DHS background check by the General Services Administration (GSA), which leased the space for the Census Bureau.
“We missed multiple warnings that the 9-11 attacks were coming because federal agencies were not communicating and coordinating with each other concerning intelligence on terrorist activity,” says Carter. “DHS was supposed to correct that, yet they have failed us three times in a row in less than a year, are refusing to admit their failures, and are taking no corrective action.”
Carter says the President should immediately take responsibility for the failures and announce definitive steps to remediate the gross incompetence.

Wanna see the face of terrorism? Here ya go…
...and you can bet forced student fees support her group.
1. The terrorist with the unpronounceable name admits that she thinks she could be arrested by Homeland Security if she says she supports Hamas. Oh that that were true.
2. She, and by inference the MSA since she is their spokesperson, supports Hamas and supports genocide of Jews. “For it.”
OK, quick questions…
1. What would happen if a College Republican said she was for genocide blacks in the US?
2. How much funding does the MSA get from student fees at UCSD?
3. Should the support of - and promotion of - genocide be a First Amendment issue?
4. How can we get this organization off US campuses?
5. Why isn’t DHS crawling up this woman’s, and the MSA’s, nether regions?
And a final note. If there was any, ANY, question in your mind that we are in a war with radical Islam just look at her face when she says “For it.”

Morning Bell: The Road to Repeal is Well Under Way
“We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it,” Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told us just weeks before Congress passed President Barack Obama’s health care plan. Well, the nation’s post-passage Obamacare education continued yesterday when the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) confirmed that the federal government will have to spend an additional $115 billion implementing the law, bringing the total estimated cost to over $1 trillion. The estimate had been requested before passage of the bill by Rep. Jerry Lewis (R-CA), but the CBO was too overwhelmed with the Democrats’ other constant revisions to the law to get back to Lewis before the final vote.
This is by far not the only nasty little surprise that has come back to bite Obamacare after passage. Shortly after it became law, U.S. employers began reporting hundreds of millions if dollars in losses thanks to tax changes in the bill. AT&T and Verizon alone pegged their Obamacare tax losses at around $1 billion each. At first, Democrats in Congress were outraged by the announcements and threatened to hold hearings persecuting these companies. But then the Democrats not only found out the companies were obligated by law to report their Obamacare related losses, but that the losses were a signal these companies might have to dump their employees’ and retirees’ health care coverage all together.
Then the Obama administration’s own Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released its final cost projections for Obamacare, finding that, contrary to White House claims, the legislation will increase national health care spending by $311 billion over the next decade. The CMS report also revealed that: 1) 18 million Americans will pay $33 billion in penalties for failing to comply with Obamacare’s individual mandate and still receive no health care; 2) U.S. employers will pay $87 billion in employer mandate penalties; 3) 14 million Americans will lose their current employer-based health coverage; 4) 7.4 million seniors will lose their current Medicare Advantage benefits; 5) 15% of all Medicare providers will be made unprofitable, thus “jeopardizing access to care for beneficiaries.”
Facing this onslaught of reality, the Obama administration has swooped into full spin mode, devoting the Weekly Presidential Address to explaining the “real benefits” Obamacare is “already delivering” to Americans. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius then sent letters to House and Senate leaders touting her “progress” in implementing the law. And then last night White House aides Nancy-Ann DeParle and Stephanie Cutter briefed the House Democratic Caucus on the “tangible benefits” of the law. The sales pitch for all three events was the same: 1) “adults” age 26 and younger can be added to their parents’ plan (never mind that this drives up their parents’ health care costs); 2) new high-risk pools for Americans with pre-existing conditions (never mind that 19 states have rejected working with HHS since Obamacare massively underfunded the pools); 3) supplementing insurance for early retirees (never mind that the Medicare Advantage cuts and tax changes mentioned above are a big reason why seniors will need supplemental coverage).
Democrats know that Americans simply are not buying what they are selling. Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-NY) tells Politico: “It’s just like trying to explain the Encyclopedia Britannica.” And John Spratt (D-SC) adds: “You need to know what you’re talking about and this is extremely complex. It’s really difficult to remember, ‘was this in this bill, or was this in the bill Senate side.’” Maybe Spratt should have figured out what was and wasn’t in the bill before he voted for it.
Since the left can’t even figure out what is in the bill they are trying to defend, the latest Rasmussen Reports shows that 63% of likely voters now believe it will increase the federal deficit, and 56% now favor repeal. Not waiting for this November’s elections to change the leadership in Congress, states are leading the way on the road to repeal. According to The Washington Post 33 states have mounted legal and legislative challenges to the new law. Clint Bolick, litigation director of the Goldwater Institute, tells the Post: “This is going to be a long, protracted war of attrition and we haven’t even seen the first wave of regulations yet. … The initial challenges to McCain-Feingold were rejected. But since then, litigators found the vulnerabilities. Likewise, here I think you’re going to see a thousand flowers bloom in terms of lawsuits. I’m hoping that this will die a death of a thousand cuts.”

$1 Trillion Was Not Enough
The dizzy honeymoon created by the EU and IMF pledge yesterday to throw a trillion dollars at eurozone debt has faded as predicted. Investors realize the “fiscal tightening” — pensions looted, social services slashed, standards of living sent into free fall — will negatively impact growth in the euro zone and result in central bankers cranking up interest rates in anticipation of looming default.
Following a euphoric surge of the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index yesterday on the announcement, U.S. stock future tumbled 1.1 percent to 1,143.5 at 9:01 a.m. in New York this morning. The euro lost all of yesterday’s gains. The euro weakened 0.7 percent against the dollar at 8:44 a.m. in New York, trading below the level it was before the European Union-led aid package was announced early yesterday, according to Bloomberg.
“The euphoria of 24 hours ago has passed,” Derek Halpenny, European head of global currency research at Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ Ltd. in London, wrote in a report today. “We are in little doubt that steps taken will offer the euro little support and the aid package does not change the fact that Spain and Portugal in particular will still have to undergo further painful austerity measures.”
Expect the central banks and EU apparatchiks to call for even more money in the days ahead. Banker “long term solutions” invariably require long term fleecing of producers.Zero Hedge notes that European banks are betting against the beleaguered euro.
“Zero Hedge has received confirmation that several of the largest French banks are now actively shorting the euro to take advantage of globalized moral hazard, which with every ensuing bailout does nothing but make the bonuses of French FX traders surge.”
In other words, the very banks the EU plans to bailout in part with U.S. taxpayer money (or tax payer long term debt) via the IMF are placing bets against the survival of Europe.
In response to the almost instantaneous cynicism about the effectiveness of throwing a trillion bucks down the black hole of engineered debt, investors are smartly moving into gold. Gold hit a five month high today and moved to within $10 of its December record peak in response to eurozone risk aversion.

Walgreens in Warrenton, Missouri Attempts To Trample First Amendment Rights!!
Standing on the corner alone, holding my American flag and a sign that read "Honk If You Love Freedom", must have been offensive to the management at the local Walgreens here in Warrenton, Mo. Or maybe it was the sign I had up on public property that said "Warren County Patriots". Or maybe it was because I was alone, instead of the normal 20 + people who took Mothers Day off. Anyway, they decided to call the Warrenton police to have the sign removed. The audio is crappy, so you might have to turn it up. Three officers arrived, and after speaking with the management, approached me and told me that "The sign is on public property, but Walgreens cuts the grass, and if they (Walgreens management) wanted to press the issue, they could force me to take the sign down".I stood my ground! Here's the video.
After giving Walgreens management my answer, the police returned and did the right thing. They told me Walgreens was ok with it now. What an amazingly fast change of heart. BS!! The management knew they were wrong and the cops weren't going to do squat!! Stand Up For Your Rights!! Never Give In!!

Sean Hannity Screws A Hero
Meet Lt. Col. Stephen Labate, U.S. Army Reserves, Iraq War Veteran and candidate for congress in New York’s 2nd Congressional District.
Labate, a staunch conservative, was the front runner, with strong Tea Party support, for the Republican nomination when Hannity stuck his foot into the middle of the process to suggest that his friend, John Gomez, would make an ideal candidate for that district.
Hannity admits that he had no idea of the situation on the ground or who was running before getting involved. In effect he made a mockery of the title of his new book “Conservative Victory”.
The feckless Republican leaders, with visions of Sean Hannity fundraisers dancing in their heads, decided that they would select Hannity’s friend as their nominee. Now the district is going to be convulsed with a needless primary because of Sean’s vanity.
We call upon other veterans to boycott any book signing appearances with Sean ‘Vanity’ Hannity for his disregard of the Tea Party Movement and his blind blundering into the affairs of his own congressional district.

Lieberman, Collins leaning toward taking administration to court over Fort Hood
By J. Taylor Rushing - 05/06/10 05:22 PM ET
Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) and ranking Republican Susan Collins (Maine) on Thursday said they are poised to press their subpoena fight with the Obama administration into court.
Lieberman and Collins, speaking separately, both said the Justice and Defense departments have been uncooperative with their efforts to obtain more information about the November 2009 shootings at Fort Hood, Texas, that killed 13 people.
Both senators stopped short of saying they’ve made a final decision, but made it clear they are probably headed toward a court confrontation with administration lawyers based on doubt that the final round of negotiations would bring success.
“If they won’t respond, I think we have an obligation. It’s not easy to enforce a subpoena against the executive branch, but I’m going to make the fight,” Lieberman said.
“If we yield to the executive branch’s argument that they can’t provide us these witnesses because there’s a criminal proceeding, we’re going to create a terrible precedent for future Congresses that will allow future administrations to just cite that. It makes no sense to me.”
Calls for comment to the Pentagon were not returned immediately. The Pentagon has been concerned that releasing the information would jeopardize the criminal case against Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan.
Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said he hasn't gotten involved so far in the struggle between Lieberman and the administration, but that he remains hopeful of a resolution.
"I haven't been asked by either Lieberman or the White House to do anything on that, so I'm just going to wait and see what they work out," he said.
A court fight with the administration wouldn’t happen without a full vote by the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and the Senate, which is far from certain. Congress could also cite Attorney General Eric Holder or Defense Secretary Robert Gates in contempt, but the enthusiasm for that among Democrats is similarly unclear.
Collins told The Hill she is “absolutely” in lockstep with Lieberman.
“I feel it’s our duty and I think it’s unfortunate that it’s come to this. But I think we have an obligation to get the information we need to do our investigation,” Collins said. “The administration just does not want to cooperate, and I think that’s just really unfortunate.”
Lieberman and Collins specifically want access to witnesses to the shootings, allegedly committed by Hasan, as well as data such as Hasan’s personnel file.
Since Lieberman subpoenaed Gates and Holder last month, the administration has shared limited information, but not enough to satisfy Lieberman or Collins. The two senators offered to follow a certain protocol regarding the sought-after information. The administration has also offered some private briefings.
Both Lieberman and Collins said Thursday that the administration has still been resistant to share information, even with their offer of safeguards.
“We’ve tried to show just what we would do to allow us to interview these people and to double-, triple-protect against pre-trial publicity, which is what they’re worried about,” Lieberman said.
